Nutritional Microscopy Analysis

Live and Dry Blood Analysis are holistic screening tools used to observe the condition of your blood under a microscope to assess overall health and internal balance.

  • Live Blood Analysis (LBA): Uses a drop of fresh blood viewed immediately under a darkfield or phase-contrast microscope. It allows you to see living cells in real time — their shape, movement, and interaction. Practitioners use it to assess hydration, nutrition, immune activity, circulation, and oxidative stress.
  • Dry Blood Analysis (DBA): Uses a drop of blood that is allowed to dry before being examined. The patterns formed as the blood dries are believed to reflect levels of oxidative stress, inflammation, toxicity, and organ stress (especially liver and lymph).

Together, these tests give a visual overview of the body’s internal environment — helping identify signs of imbalance, nutritional deficiencies, or oxidative stress. They are not diagnostic medical tests, but are often used in holistic and naturopathic settings to guide lifestyle, dietary, and detox recommendations.

How are LBA & DBA performed?

  • For both LBA & DBA a single drop of capillary blood is drawn from the fingertip and placed on slides.
  • For LBA, the live sample is observed under a specialized darkfield or phase contrast microscope at high magnification.
  • For DBA, the blood sample is dried and observed under a high powered microscope at high magnification.
  • Clients are invited to view their live blood on-screen and receive an explanation of observable features.
  • Clients will receive detailed written findings and nutritional and lifestyle recommendations based on observations within 5 business days.
  • A scheduled phone call will be set up to discuss the findings and recommendations.
  • Optional follow-up sessions to track progress over time and monitor changes as dietary and lifestyle improvements are implemented.

Live Blood Analysis (LBA)

Live Blood Analysis – also known as Live Cell Microscopy or Darkfield Microscopy — is a technique used by some holistic, naturopathic, and functional health practitioners to observe a drop of fresh, living blood under a specialized microscope in real time. It provides a visual snapshot of your blood’s terrain — its cellular activity, plasma quality, and overall biological environment — rather than specific lab values.

Observations in Live Blood

  • Nutritional deficiencies (B vitamins, iron, essential fatty acids)
  • Poor digestion or protein absorption
  • Dehydration
  • Oxidative stress and free radical damage
  • Liver or lymphatic congestion
  • Immune system stress or overactivity
  • Circulatory issues (blood “stickiness,” sluggish flow)
  • Acidic internal terrain or pH imbalance
  • Yeast, fungal, or microbial imbalance

Dry Blood Analysis (DBA)

Dry Blood Analysis – also known as Oxidative Stress Test – is a screening to obtain insight into a person’s overall health, oxidative stress, and inflammation levels. A drop of blood is placed on a slide and allowed to dry. The dried patterns are then examined under a high-powered microscope. The clotting patterns and oxidative changes in the sample can reflect the body’s internal environment.

Observations in Dry Blood

  • Oxidative stress (free radical damage)
  • Inflammation levels
  • Nutrient deficiencies (especially antioxidants such as Vitamin C, E, Selenium, Zinc)
  • Liver or lymphatic burden
  • Toxic Load (environmental, heavy metals, or metabolic waste)
  • Digestive weakness or enzyme deficiency and poor protein breakdown
  • Poor hydration or circulation

How It Supports Nutritional Assessment

Live and Dry Blood Analysis complement traditional and holistic assessments by offering a visual snapshot of your body’s terrain. While not diagnostic, it gives qualitative insights into how well the body is responding to your current nutrition and lifestyle.

Based on the findings, we tailor individualized wellness protocols that may include:

  • Nutritional changes
  • Herbal or natural supplementation
  • Detoxification support
  • Digestive or hydration improvement
  • Stress and lifestyle management

This approach supports your body’s natural healing process by addressing the root causes of imbalance, not just symptoms.
